BALTIMORE, MD, March 25, 2024 — The U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration finalized its review and certified Sapio Sciences’ compliance with the E.U.-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF), U.K.-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework on March 19, 2024. The DPF is an initiative by the U.S. Department of Commerce to bridge the data protection standards between the U.S. and the E.U., the U.K., and Switzerland. The framework sets a high standard for personal data safety and security through several safeguards:

The E.U.-U.S. DPF, UK Extension to the E.U.-U.S. DPF, and Swiss-U.S. DPF were respectively developed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the European Commission, the UK Government, and the Swiss Federal Administration to provide U.S. organizations with reliable mechanisms for personal data transfers to the United States from the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland while ensuring data protection that is consistent with E.U., U.K., and Swiss law.
