Summary

Sapio Science is seeking a highly motivated and self-starting Business Analyst (BA).  You will join a rapidly growing team, that builds on our recent customer wins. 

An experienced BA you will be confident working in Life Sciences to consultatively define, implement and help support our solution to the delight of customers.  You will have deep knowledge of LIMS, ELN and SDMS products and their application within the Laboratory setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understands customer’s business case, current state and implementation roadmaps
  • Interpret customer requests and translate them into functional requirements (recognize the distinction between user requests from the underlying true needs)
  • Helps clarify details, questions and formalizes use cases between customer and Solution Architects.
  • Effectively document, communicate (oral and written) and explain technical material and document of business processes and workflow (‘as is’ and ‘to be’),
  • Provides input to Gantt chart on implementation tasks and communicates scope creep to PM
  • Identify customers key success criteria and ensure they are tracked and measured within the solution
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the Sapio Sciences product portfolio and how it is configured
  • Be able to perform configurations of the workflow/experiment in the Sapio Platform, and/or in some cases creates wireframe mockups of the workflow/experiment
  • Perform root cause analysis, uncover critical business requirements and facilitate solution delivery
  • Expected to function independently and produce results that meet standards of quality, timeliness and acceptability with minimal supervision
  • Liaise with Product to ensure new customer driven feature requirements are captured
  • Become our customer’s trusted technical partner, regularly review their deployment to ensure successful leverage our full product and service portfolio
  • Work closely with the Sapio Sciences delivery team to establish scalable processes and working methods
  • Meticulously manage all BA related deployment services documentation
  • As needed, assist in testing sprint deliverables to ensure they meet requirements

Essential Experience

  • Several years of Life Sciences experience working within a Lab (preferably introducing new IT solutions)
  • Previous experience with LIMS or ELN software
  • Experience in Agile methodology
  • Substantial experience of effectively managing external stakeholders including strong communication skills and ability to build working relationships at all levels
  • Experience leading external client workshops, documenting business needs and outcomes
  • Proven organizational skills, with the ability to deliver agreed workload within deadlines whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, interviewing, data analysis and fact-finding skills

Additional Requirements

  • A BS/BA degree or equivalent in Life Science (e.g. molecular biology, chemistry)
  • Excellent listening and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel, < 20% of the time
  • Demonstrated success working responsibly and effectively from a home office
  • Effective time management, and prioritization skills
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, drawing tools, CRM Programs)
  • Fluent in English language

Position Summary: 

An experienced application engineer, you will be confident working in Life Sciences to successfully deliver our solution to the delight of customers.  To develop deep knowledge of LIMS, ELN and SDMS products and their application within the Laboratory setting are essential for success with a goal of becoming an expert in the configuration and deployment of Sapio Sciences products.

Essential Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Build and maintain an in-depth understanding of Sapio Sciences’ products and services.
  • Work with the Sapio Sciences team to develop and deploy solutions for the customer.
  • Work closely with the customer to understand the business requirements and processes.
  • Configure the Sapio products to meet time, budget, quality and customer success criteria.
  • Train customers on the configuration and use of the Sapio Sciences products
  • Support customers in the subsequent implementation of the configuration
  • Support Project Managers in the delivery of customer projects
  • Provide help on support portal to address customer’s questions and issues on a rotating basis.
  • Follow Sapio Sciences agile deployment methodology.
  • Document customer feedback and ensure issues are addressed to provide the best customer experience and ultimate success of the project.
  • Meticulously manage all AE related deployment services documentation

  • Experience working with JIRA in a support capacity.
  •  Life Sciences experience working within a Lab (preferably introducing new IT solutions)
  • Some of experience with configuring either LIMS or ELN or similar software.
  • Preferred:  knowledge of one or more of GWT, MySQL, Oracle, Tomcat, Linux, AWS

Working location:

This will primarily be a remote/home based position, with an expectation to attend on-site training at our York, Pennsylvania office for a total of 3-4 weeks in the first 6 months of the role. The role will also entail traveling on site for ad-hoc meetings, additional trainings and events.

As a Business Development Manager for Western US (and broader NAM), you will be responsible for new and repeat sales of Sapio products and professional services to assigned prospects and accounts.

Essential responsibilities:

  • Meeting established sales quotas.
  • Accurately forecast customer business commitments.
  • Have a good working knowledge of Sapio’s product and professional service offerings and capabilities. Understand the features and benefits and vale proposition of our products.
  • Sell consultatively and make recommendations on the various Sapio product configuration choices and professional service alternatives.
  • Build relationships with prospects with the aim of ensuring they remain aware of Sapio and that Sapio knows when they are planning additional purchases.
  • Arrange meetings with sales prospects and deliver presentations at those meetings.
  • Communicate the customer’s goals and represent the customer’s requirements to Sapio colleagues.  
  • Manage creation of timely customer proposals and quotations as needed to secure business.
  • Manage the sales process and document it in the CRM.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Attend sales conferences including staffing company booth.
  • Deliver Company presentations exceptionally.
  • Maintain accurate records in Sapio’s CRM of regional sales and prospecting activities including   sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities including regular management status and call reports.
  • Responsible for active, timely, visible, and on-going customer communications and occasional conflict resolution.
  • Be familiar with account related legal documents.
  • Monitor Sapio projects to maintain a continuous knowledge of project status in order to identify potential issues.

Experience Required:

  • Accomplished sales experience in life science/pharmaceutical or clinical industry including traditional account management responsibilities, ideally with experience with LIMS/ELN solutions.
  • Proven ability and track record of achieving sales quotas.
  • Located in Western US.
  • Ability to travel to regional customer accounts.
