As our membership continues to grow, our projects and initiatives will be vital in fostering this collaborative mind-set and leading to new breakthroughs,\u201d commented Dr Steve Arlington, President of The Pistoia Alliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regarding the&nbsp; Alliance, Kevin Cramer, &nbsp;Chief Science Officer of Sapio said \u201cwe are genuinely excited to join the Pistoia Alliance. Our mission is to partner with our customers to accelerate the Research &amp; Development of new and improved products to make the world a better place. We do this by providing a solution today that enables what some call the Digital Lab, and what we call the Seamless Lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As has been made clear with the current pandemic, there is nothing more important at this time than the accelerated development and delivery of new drugs. Our mission is to be the enabler of this critically important objective. . We\u2019re delighted to support the Alliance and to listen, learn and partner with its &nbsp;members,&nbsp; some of which are our customers, in their outstanding work\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-about-the-pistoia-alliance\"><strong>About the Pistoia Alliance<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pistoia Alliance is a global, not-for-profit members\u2019 organization made up of life science companies, technology and service providers, publishers, and academic groups working to lower barriers to innovation in life science and healthcare R&amp;D. It was conceived in 2007 and incorporated in 2009 by representatives of AstraZeneca, GSK, Novartis and Pfizer who met at a conference in Pistoia, Italy. Its projects transform R&amp;D through pre-competitive collaboration. It overcomes common R&amp;D obstacles by identifying the root causes, developing standards and best practices, sharing pre-competitive data and knowledge, and implementing technology pilots. There are currently over 150 member companies; members collaborate on projects that generate significant value for the worldwide life sciences R&amp;D community, using The Pistoia Alliance\u2019s proven framework for open innovation.
